Dover Performance Best For A While - Kinnear

By David Richardson

Dover Athletic extended their unbeaten run and remain a point off the top of the Vanarama National League with one of their best performances at Torquay United.

The Whites won 2-0 at rock bottom Torquay United to continue their excellent start - watch match highlights here.

Paul Lewis' fifth minute goal and Ryan Bird's second half effort gave Dover the perfect away win to the delight of manager Chris Kinnear.

"I thought that was probably as good as we've played for a while. They've not had any chances really and we've created so many.

"I'm really pleased for the lads. It could have been difficult and it was difficult as Torquay have a bit of spirit now, we thought it was going to a hard game and it has proved to be but the young boys stood up to it, I'm really proud of them.

"It was a windy day but you've got to get on with it and overcome all things. We're more than pleased with that result."
