In this topsy turvy Vanarama National League season, there were once again new leaders on Saturday evening.
Sutton did enough to get the better of Barrow with a 3-2 win at Gander Green Lane but made hard work of it after letting the Bluebirds back in.
It's not the first time Doswell has seen his team hit the top of the league - only for it to be a one game stay.
He laughed: "We are top, it's great but it means only one thing and that's that we're going to lose at Wrexham on Saturday!
"Every time we have found ourselves in first place, it has lasted for one game. It's not just us either - every side that goes to the top stays there for one match only.
"For some reason clubs can't seem to stick two good results together this year, but it makes for a wonderfully entertaining league. We're enjoying being up there - even if it's usually only for a few days!"
Doswell was happy with how his side dealt with Barrow's air raids.
He said: "They are great at what they do and they play a way that makes it very difficult.
"I thought a new manager was coming in because they wanted a change of style but clearly they are keeping with it.
"They have the longest throw in I have even seen, it's such a weapon but we stood up to everything that came at us.
"It was good to get a win after losing to Woking last time. The players worked hard and gave everything. It's a really good result and we are good at responding to set backs.
"Now we have got to go to Wrexham and try to break the curse of the National League leaders!"
