Doswell Says Sutton Are Done As Ayunga Completes Squad

Sutton United say their transfer business is done as Paul Doswell confirmed the final piece in his jigsaw.

Striker Jonah Ayunga has signed a two-year deal with the club.

The Kenyan completes the summer activity at Gander Green Lane and Doswell is pleased with what he has got.

Ayunga has already pulled on the shirt as Sutton beat Coventry City 2-0 last weekend.

“We are really pleased with Jonah signing, as we were really looking for another young forward who we could develop and improve and Jonah certainly fits the bill,” said his new manager on the club’s website.

“He reminds me of the Tommy Wright and Josh Taylor profile of young players that are hungry to do well and are prepared to work very hard to succeed.

“He certainly impressed us on Saturday and has also trained very well in the last two weeks since pre-season started.

“He’s 6’3″, quick and has had a good grounding at Brighton, including a valuable loan spell in the Irish premier league last season.

“David Hughes once again has proved invaluable in making this deal happen, as he understands the culture of our club and feels Jonah can progress quickly with Sutton United.

“By signing a two-year deal it gives Jonah the chance to really develop and we think with Bairdy’s influence he can be a great addition to our squad.”
