Did Complacency Set In For In-Form Leyton Orient?

Leyton Orient manager Steve Davis dropped hints that complacency played a part in Leyton Orient's loss at Boreham Wood yesterday.

The O's good run is at an end following their first defeat since a disastrous performance at Bromley last month.

Orient fans helped their team by filling one side of Meadow Park on Saturday. That created a record home attendance for Luke Garrard's side.

But the Wood's 2-0 win means the East London club are coming to terms with their third defeat of the season already.

Davis said: “Maybe there is a danger of complacency. I don’t know if that was it today, but maybe a few have been reading too much about themselves and getting carried away.

“I did say that to them after the game and it is really about what we do out on the pitch and what we do in the training field every day, so that’s the most important thing.

“Forget all the hype and the press and the stuff in the media. It is all about what we do on the pitch and I want us to focus on that.”

On the game, he told the East London Advertiser that they fell some way short in Hertfordshire.

“Up to today we had been brilliant and exceptionally good in the last four games and the boys are still very buoyant and positive," said Davis.

“We are just disappointed we were not able to get a grip of the game and put in a performance worthy of getting anything from it.”
