In fact two of them. Both quite big scores.
The Magpies get the 2018-19 campaign under way with a visit from Gateshead on Saturday.
Usually, home advantage against a part-time team on the opening day would be welcomed.
But for Maidenhead, thing ms rarely go to plan when they meet the Heed Army.
In November, Steve Watson’s team eased to a 3-0 win over them at York Street in one of their most disappointing displays in front of their home fans.
At least the vast majority would have missed the horror show at the International Stadium towards the end of the season.
Gateshead won 7-1 in March as the floodgates really opened on a soggy day on Tyneside.
Devonshire said: “We have really got to put things right on the first day of the season.
“Gateshead have been our bogey team and last year scored ten against us in the two league games. Both were bad days.
“We need to set the record straight. It’s a new season so hopefully they won’t leave here with another result like that.”
Devonshire has been happy with the club’s pre-season performances and called the summer “encouraging” as they get ready for their second year in Non-League’s top flight.
