Derby Victory Is Just The Tonic For Shots Boss Waddock

Aldershot Town boss Gary Waddock was delighted to see his side return to their best in the derby victory over Woking.

Shamir Fenelon’s double and a second-half Manny Oyeleke strike secured the local bragging rights for the Shots.

The 3-1 victory also sent Waddock’s men up to third in the Vanarama National League following three disappointing League results.

Waddock told the club’s website: “We deserved the victory. Woking started well but slowly and surely, we got closer to how we play. There were some good performances from the players and that was more like us.

“It was a derby game and you’d expect all the players and fans to be up for the game and that was the case.

“We’ve come away from how I want the team to play recently. The most pleasing thing is, of course, the points but I was really encouraged by how we played.

“It’s been tough for us recently and every team goes through it during a season. You want to get a result in front of your own fans in a derby game and thankfully today we did.”
