Denton: Ask Me In February If Halifax Will Compete!

FC Halifax Town striker Tom Denton will continue to hold off on putting the club's name to a promotion push - until at least February!

Despite the club being able to go top of the Vanarama National League, the Shaymen star would still prefer to be non committal on their prospects.

Halifax host Bromley tomorrow - and the Yorkshire club are one of 12 club who have a mathematical chance of sitting top of top of the table on Saturday night.

Billy Heath's side can't wait for the challenge and he says you can't take your eyes off the league this season.

Denton said: "We started off our first three games without a goal but we were actually looking solid.

"But from then on we haven't looked back and even got up to second in the league that's a credit to the lads.

"I think the Dagenham game last weekend was one to far on Saturday after going to Leyton Orient and winning 3-0 getting home at 4am and then going to work think it took its toll on the boys!"

It's Neil Smith's Bromley this weekend, a side who have won their last two games against Solihull Moors and Torquay United.

"As always we take each game as it comes because we won Tuesday and went top then lost on Saturday - and then went down to 8th," Denton warmed.

"Who knows what will happen... maybe ask me in February! But our aim is to get to 50 points as soon as possible and go from there."
