The 51-year-old signed a two-year deal yesterday with the club having left League One side Crewe Alexandra in January.
It's been a busy summer for Orient but following a successful takeover by lifelong fan and Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins CEO Nigel Travis, the club is back on the up.
And now Davis has joined the coaching team to partner with assistant coach Ross Embleton and director of football Martin Ling.
While transferring the feel-good factor onto the pitch is always easier said than done, Davis believes he's the man that can rediscover the glory days.
"It's been quite a long week but we've got there in the end," he told the club's website. "It feels good to be at a club of this nature, size and potential. It's gone through some difficult periods, but I want to be part of a team that next time people run on the pitch it's for the right reasons!
"It's a great club and one heaped in tradition. I felt when accepting the job, that it was going to be a fresh start after I had spoken to people at the football club. That's what attracted me - they are where they are but we want to try and get the club back in the League.
"My philosophy has always been to play attractive, attacking football. At the same time, it's about winning football matches. For me, it's about changing the mentality around the place, that's everybody and not just the players.
"I've got a lot of passion, I love football, it's all I've ever done. I want to do well and be successful and try to bring back some good memories for the fans."
