Conceding in the 89th minute meant Southport left Boston United empty handed with another 3-2 loss on the road, it is now 17 games in all competitions since they last gained victory, writes Tom Feaheny.
"It was dejavu, as a group in the second half we didn't perform, the mentality of not winning for so long, it was very disappointing," Davies said.
"We have had plenty of changes and are trying to get the group to gel as quickly as possible, we've had good training sessions, we have to address, we looked comfortable going in at half-time but just didn't kick on.
"There are positives to take from the game despite the loss, now we need to stick together and push on."
They next take on two teams in Bradford Park Avenue and Chorley who are at the right end of the table but Davies knows just one win could lead to a turn around in results.
"There has to be an improvement that takes place points wise, we next face two teams in the top eight area, we need to get the performance and result, if we can do that it gives us the lift."
