In the race for top spot Wrexham gained another victory, writes Tom Feaheny.
A 1-0 win was secured against Maidstone United thanks to captain Shaun Pearson getting a second-half goal.
This result sees the side five points off top spot.
"It is a great feeling, there is a real level of satisfaction, we started the game really well but were patient as well," Davies told the club's website.
"The game could have been out of sight, we had chances early on, we stuck at it though and then defended well when we needed to.
"It is all about winning, the performance is second now, it is just all about the three points, this is a great feeling and that shows the winning mentality."
Davies says Pearson's contribution was clear both with his goal and his level of play.
"Shaun has the character, the personality, in both boxes he is key and to get the goal tops it off for him."
So with the finish line in sight, Davies made it clear what the aim is.
"The aim is promotion, whether that is via top spot or the play-offs, we know the importance of our form right now."
