David Beckham To Become Involved With Salford City

Salford City have announced that David Beckham has purchased shares in the club.

The former England captain - a big part of the Class of 92 - is set to invest alongside the current owners.

He has bought a ten per cent stake in the National League club meaning the former Manchester United stars are now the majority shareholders.

Beckham joins Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt, Gary and Phil Neville and Paul Scholes at Moor Lane.

“When the lads got involved in Salford City five years ago I was trying to get the team in Miami going," Beckham said.

“Now that is on its way I am now able to get involved. It’s a special group of people.

“To be involved in this now is very exciting.

"Salford is where I grew up really. It's going to be a proud moment when we're all sat together watching our team."
