Daggers Must Start To Bridge The Goal Gap

Dagenham manager John Still held his hands up to his team being well beaten on Saturday - and knows the goals have got to start flowing again before long.

The Daggers lost 2-0 at Tranmere Rovers and Still knows it was a just scoreline at Prenton Park. Watch Match Highlights Here.

The East Londoners have had a stop start second season back in the National League but the manager retains faith in his squad.

But getting back up into the play-off places as quickly as possible is his main aim now and says he won’t let the club’s season get away from them.

His team face Guiseley next at home and addressing a goals issue is next for the experienced manager.

Dagenham haven’t scored more than one in a game since September 23 and the visit to bottom club Solihull Moors.

Since then, they have scored only four times in their last nine games in league and FA Cup.

The manager said: “From our point of view we have no complaints about the result. The best team won the match.

“They were stronger than we were and deserved to get the win. Especially in the first half they carried far greater threat.

“We need to start scoring again. I still think there are goals in this team but we aren’t putting the ball in the back of the net.

“They were better than we were and fair play to Tranmere but we gave it a go in the second half.”
