That is the view of Daggers coach Darren Currie who wasn't impressed by what he saw as the squeezed past the struggling Gulls.
Two promotion contenders meet tonight at the EBB Stadium and it will take a big performance from the East Londoners to take the three points back from Hampshire.
Currie and manager John Still want to see the Dagenham from a few weeks ago show itself again.
"The performance on Saturday was below what we expect. We would want to put in a better performance, but the positives are that we won and kept a clean sheet,” said the assistant.
"There are always positives and negatives to take from a game, but we won’t kid ourselves – it wasn’t what we’re trying to achieve.
“On the positive, we got the result and proved in many games this season that we keep going until the final minute.
"We’ve got lots of last-minute goals, and the one against Torquay has given us the three points.”
