Curzon Reward Manager Mahon With Big New Deal

Vanarama National League North leaders Curzon Ashton have moved to tie manager Craig Mahon down to a new long-term contract.

The Nash have rewarded Mahon and assistants Jack Salkeld and Mark Bradshaw with deal which will keep them at the club until 2027.

Curzon are the division’s surprise pacesetters, enjoying one of their best ever seasons as they punch above their weight.

Player/manager Mahon has made more than 200 appearances for the club and was quick to extend his stay for a further two years.

A club statement read: “Curzon Ashton Football Club is delighted to confirm that Manager, Craig Mahon, and Assistant Managers, Jack Salkeld and Mark Bradshaw have extended their contracts with the club.

“The trio took to the dugout following the departure of Adam Lakeland, after what will be another successful season, they have put pen to paper and committed their immediate future to The Nash, keeping them at the Tameside Stadium until 26/27.

“Whilst the manager role at Curzon Ashton was a step into the unknown for manager Craig Mahon, he has excelled in the position, guiding The Nash to two, first round qualifications in the FA Cup where they faced league opposition, leading them to their highest league finish last season."

Chairman John Clayton said: “Delighted to get these contracts signed and looking forward to continuing our journey together.”
