Curtain Comes Down On Carden’s AFC Telford Tenure

AFC Telford have parted company with Paul Carden, the seventh National League North managerial departure of the season so far.

The Buck have won just one league game this season and sit 23rd in the table.

The club went down 3-2 at Peterborough Sports on Saturday and are without a victory since the opening day of the season.

Carden, picture, was dismissed a few weeks short of a year in the job, having taken over from Dennis Greene in November 2021.

Telford - out of the FA Cup after defeat to Chasetown - now do not play until October 22.

Their hunt for a new manager begins today as the club released a short statement confirming a change has been made.

It read: “AFC Telford United can this evening confirm that we have parted company with manager Paul Carden.”

The former Cambridge United captain secured survival on the final day of last season but couldn’t inspire better things this time around.

Telford face high flying Scarborough in two Saturdays time and hope to have a new manager in place by then.
