Cummins: Postponement Didn't Change Gateshead Preparation

Gateshead assistant manager Micky Cummins says despite their game against Woking being called off at the weekend it has no impact on their preparation for the Torquay United game

The Heed saw their home match not go ahead with the weather conditions making the goalmouth areas unsafe, writes Tom Feaheny.

There was no rest for the players though as they found another way to get ready for the Torquay game.

"The lads had been prepared properly but the focus is on Tuesday's game that was the case the moment we knew that game wasn't happening," Cummins told the club's website.

"We will train on Monday, we had a little gym session on Saturday, the preparation will be key, it will be a long journey for us, it could be good that we are a little fresher going into it

"We will have Russell Penn back from suspension and the break in play will help one or two lads recover a little bit more for the game."
