Crowd Pleasers! Who Pulled In The Most This Weekend?

By Sam Elliott

National League football was finally back at the weekend, and so were the impressive early-season crowds.

The opening day saw no fewer than 20 four-figure crowds enjoy the sun - and the return of their sides to competitive action!

The top two attendances were recorded in the National League North as Stockport County welcomed over 4,500 and Hereford showed they mean business on and off the pitch as they pulled in nearly 3,000 for their 3-0 win over Blyth Spartans.

We’re all keen to know who are filling their stands and which sides could do with a few more putting their head around the door.

So we record the top ten crowds whenever there is a full programme to see whose turnstiles are really clicking.

At the end of August we will once again publish our unique attendance tables from all three divisions.

August 4 - top ten National League attendances:

1: Stockport County v FC United 4,577
2: Hereford v Blyth Spartans 2,836
3: Maidstone v Hartlepool 2,599
4: Aldershot v Barnet 2,409
5: Chester v Spennymoor 2,191
6: Salford City v Leyton Orient 2,156
7: Ebbsfleet v Chesterfield 2,041
8: Chorley v York City 1,520
9: Darlington v Curzon Ashton 1,480
10: Harrogate Town v Sutton 1,378
