Crowd Pleasers! The Top Attendances From Around The Grounds

By Sam Elliott

Christmas shopping was rightly neglected on Saturday by the look of it. There were another set of fantastic crowds posted by our clubs this weekend.

As so often happens, the biggest of them all were not treated to any goals as almost 5,000 watch Wrexham and Dover draw 0-0.

In the top ten attendances of the day, there were three involving National League North clubs: Salford, York and Kidderminster. Only Harriers fans had anything to cheer.

In the National League South the biggest gate of the season turned out to see Chippenham Town host rivals Bath City in the A4 derby. It was the 500+ Romans who returned home the happier with a fine 3-0 win.

But even that crowd didn’t make it into our top ten of the weekend.

Here’s what did - and don’t forget to return to see some even bigger attendance figures on Boxing Day and over the New Year.

1. Wrexham v Dover Athletic 4,980

2. Maidstone United v Leyton Orient 3,225

3. Hartlepool United v Maidenhead 2,756

4. York City v Blyth Spartans 2,751

5. Sutton United v Tranmere Rovers 2,237

6. FC Halifax v Chester 2,040

7. Woking v Barrow 1,816

8. Salford City v Chorley 1,780

9. AFC Fylde v Ebbsfleet United 1,512

10. Kidderminster v Nuneaton 1,510
