County Fans Queue Up To Donate Tickets To Local Families

Notts County and their charity arm Notts County Foundation are teaming up to give local families a day they will never forget.

Once a season the Magpies slash ticket prices to encourage new faces through the turnstiles – last season saw a record-breaking Vanarama National League crowd of nearly 13,000 for the visit of Solihull Moors.

County’s fixture on Saturday 19 November against Yeovil Town has been designated as their annual ‘Football for a Fiver’ day at Meadow Lane.

This week the club announced a new initiative that gives supporters the chance to gift a ticket for the match to the charity arm of the club, the Notts County Foundation.

Any tickets gifted will be distributed to local families who the Foundation work with.

The playing squad and staff at the club kicked off the initiative by donating 50 tickets themselves.

“While ticket prices are considerably lower for this fixture, we are acutely aware that many people simply can’t justify paying to attend football matches - particularly given the cost of living crisis,” the club’s chief executive Jason Turner said.

“Last season’s record-breaking occasion was an incredible experience for all in attendance and we want to give everyone who wants to come the opportunity to do so this time around.

“Working with our brilliant colleagues at the Foundation and our incredibly generous supporters, we know this initiative will have a huge impact on so many people and give them a day they will always remember.”
