Coulson Comes On Board At Blyth Spartans

Blyth Spartans have been given a major off-field boost with the arrival of Mike Coulson.

The former Gateshead General Manager and Head of Football Operations Mike Coulson has joined their executive committee.

The National League North promotion-chasers has a 30-year association with north east football until he left the International Stadium earlier this season.

Spartans Chairman Tony Platten moved quickly to bring him to Croft Park.

“I’m extremely glad to be at Blyth Spartans,” said Coulson.

"Having left Gateshead at the start of January it was very gratifying to get a phone call from Tony quite quickly after that.

“Once he explained what he wanted I was more than happy to jump on board.

“I think there is a lot of potential here, Blyth has always struck me as a club who can work close with the community, if you don’t engage with the local community you’ll struggle to move forward.”
