Concord Grounded Late On As Woking Force Replay

By David Richardson

Anthony Limbrick says National League South Concord Rangers deserve credit for their performance against his in-form Woking side.

The Beach Boys were heading for a big upset until the Cards equalised three minutes from time meaning the two sides will have to do it all over again on Tuesday night.

Woking, third in the National League, have won six of their eight home league games this season but fell behind to Steve Cawley's well-taken finish.

Concord's defence had plenty to do in the second half and finally the home side found a way through as Jamie Philpot levelled from close range.

The visitors, who are second from bottom in the division below, struck the post in the last minute and their performance impressed Limbrick. He said: "We knew it was going to be a tough game, there's no doubt about that. We didn't get caught up with where they were in their league and where we were. It's always different in the FA Cup.

"Credit to them, they came with a clear gameplay. They dropped off well, they were organised and defended for their lives. They caught us on the break a few times and made it difficult for us to play our football.

"But credit to our lads we go all the way and till the end. We never gave up and we went for it at the end. It almost cost us. We're still in the hat and that's a positive."
