Concord Go Green As They Look For A Big Cup Upset

Concord Rangers manager Adam Flanagan is happy to go into next weekend's FA Cup 4QR game as underdogs.

The Vanarama National League South side travel to Woking - a side in form and scoring goals a league above them.

Rangers won't be fancied by too many in Surrey with the Cards strong at home.

Flanagan accepts it's one of the most challenging draws possible but was last night boosted by the news he has been able to re-sign attacking midfielder Ben Greenhalgh from Hemel Hempstead Town.

Concord return to League action on Saturday when they face Havant & Waterlooville but the excitement of the FA Cup is certainly apparent..

“Ideally it would have been nice to have got a more favourable tie but I am excited to go to Woking," the manager told the Basildon Standard.

“They are one win off being top of the National League and they get an average home gate of around 1,400 so it will be a good environment for us on the day.

“It will also be the first time in this season’s FA Cup where we go to a team as underdogs and have no pressure on us.

“Woking are a difficult side to play at home They have won five, drawn one and lost one, scoring 13 and conceding six.

“I know they have brought in a new manager - Anthony Limbrick - who has gained a wealth of experience as a coach in numerous high profile roles.”
