The 1-0 win over Bognor Regis Town means move up to 18th in the National League South - and ten points away from the Rocks.
The Bluebirds still aren’t clear of trouble though but Collier knows the importance of winning this one after a going over two months without victory.
“There’s no doubt this was a big game for both sides and it’s a very important three points for us,” he said.
“It was probably a bigger game for Bognor - they knew they had to win but we are just happy we managed to get the job done.
“I thought we were comfortable throughout the match and deserved the victory.
“The shape of the team was really good. I don’t think they threatened us too much really.”
Collier said confidence didn’t dip despite their winless run.
He said: “It was our first win since the beginning of December - that seems a really long time ago. But its important to remember since then we have picked up good points against some of the top teams in the league.
“That managed to keep morale within the group high but there’s nothing quite like three points!”
