Collier Concerned, But There Is No Chippenham Crisis

Chippenham Town’s dip in form is only a “little reality check” says their manager Mark Collier.

The Bluebirds manager had some strong words for his players after their FA Cup exit to Weymouth last weekend.

It was the team’s third defeat in a row, a fifth loss in five matches.

Chippenham return to Vanarama National League South action on Saturday and improvement is expected when Town play at home to Hemel Hempstead.

Collier is expecting a reaction to what happened at the Wessex Stadium and told the Wiltshire Times today that changes are afoot.

“It’s just a little reality check, it’s not a crisis,” believes the manager. “We are going through a difficult time trying to win matches and I respect and understand we are in a big, powerful league, but there is a concern and hopefully we can change things sooner rather than later.”

“I just think we need to freshen up. Maybe we are short of a little bit of experience but experienced players come at a cost and most of the experienced players we are looking at are on a contract.

“If anyone becomes available that is better than what we have got then we have to be interested in looking at that.”
