“Frustration has turned to anger really,” he said after the 2-1 home loss to Woking, where the Coasters were a goal ahead before giving up their lead with a dismal 60-second period.
“I’m angry, we have thrown away the points from a winning position again.”
Challinor’s Fylde were fancied for another shot at promotion having romped to the Vanarama National League North title last season.
This term, though, has seen an unexpected slow start. The manager can’t understand why his team have yet to hit the heights but is demanding more.
“We didn’t look like a team who wanted to take responsibility,” he complained. “Woking scored two goals inside a minute - we’ve gone from 1-0 up to 2-1 down within the blink of an eye
“Standards are not being met and that won’t be tolerated. I’ve lost track of the number of times we have failed to hold on to a lead.”
Fylde look to put that right in their next game as they travel to East London to take on Leyton Orient.
