Coasters Make Their Move As Attacking Midfielder Joins

AFC Fylde have announced the signing of Danny Philliskirk – and he says he’s ready to give his all for the Coasters, writes Tom Scott.

Philliskirk joins AFC Fylde after spending two-and-a-half years at Blackpool – where he made 40 appearances for the Seasiders. He’s also spent time at Sheffield United, Chelsea and Oldham Athletic.

The 27-year-old attacking midfielder signs a two-year deal at Mill Farm and he told the club’s official website that once he’d met Dave Challinor – there was no doubt where he wanted to play his football.

“I had heard good things about the club,” he said. “I knew they were interested. I came and met Chally, had a look around and never looked back.

The facilities here really open up your eyes and it’s great to see what they’re doing.”
The midfielder – who can also play as a striker – could potentially make his debut tomorrow in the club’s pre-season friendly with Preston North End.

When asked about his abilities, Philliskirk was in doubt that he could bag plenty of goals for the Coasters in the National League.

“Hard work is something I pride myself with, whether I’m having a good game or a bad game I’ll always give 100 per cent,” he said.

“I’ve got an eye for goal and hopefully, I can score a few here.”

AFC Fylde get there season underway at home to Bromley on August 4.
