AFC Fylde's big FA Cup week just got bigger...the trophy is coming to town!

The Vanarama National League side will host the 2013 winners Wigan Athletic on Sunday in the second round of the competition - and the build-up is gathering pace.

The tie takes place on Friday, December 1st and will be broadcast live to the nation on BBC Two with a 7.55pm kick-off.

Well over 2000 tickets have been sold and now fans can get their hands on the prestigious cup this week.

The FA are taking the silverware to Mill Farm on Wednesday and fans can get their picture taken with it from 3.30pm.

The club are also offering supporters the chance to purchase a limited edition FA Cup shirt to mark the occasion.

Dave Challinor's side reached this stage by beating National League rivals Wrexham 1-0 and then the National League North's Kidderminster Harriers 4-2.

Speaking about their tie with Wigan, Challinor said: “I’m absolutely delighted with the draw. It’s an opportunity for our lads to pit their wits against one of the top ranked teams left in the competition and also one of the recent winners of the FA Cup.

“We are at home too so it will be the biggest game that has ever been staged at Mill Farm and probably the biggest game in the club’s history. It’s a great occasion and one that we are relishing."
