Coasters Finally Get Their Reward With Vital Victory

By Steven Coney

Dave Challinor hailed a “massive” three points for his AFC Fylde side after they fought back to win at Maidenhead United.

Harry Pritchard’s controversial penalty put the Magpies ahead at the break but goals from Lewis Montrose and Jack Muldoon claimed a priceless win for the Coasters.

It was their first victory in seven games and boss Challinor was relieved to see his side’s efforts rewarded with much-needed points.

“We could have been forgiven for feeling sorry for ourselves but we weathered the storm and played against the wind and slope in the first half,” he told the club’s website.

“Second half we improved and thoroughly deserved the win. We had plenty of chances and scored two really good goals to boot.

“Performances have been okay recently but results haven’t been going our way so to dig in and come away with three points a long way from home was massive.”
