Coasters Bring In Another On Loan From Latics

By Steve Whitney

AFC Fylde have announced the signing of midfielder Jordan Flores on a month`s loan from SkyBet League One side Wigan Athletic.

The 22-year-old, who can also fill in at left-back, will team up with the Coasters until April 4th.

Flores came through the Latics’ academy system and netted a cracker on his debut as a teenager against Fleetwood Town in 2015 - the stunning volley being named the club’s ‘goal of the season’ for 2015/16.

He has since made a dozen first-team appearances for Wigan, netting twice.

The skilful midfielder spent time on loan with Blackpool last season, making seventeen appearances and scoring 3 goals as the Tangerines were promoted to League One via the play-offs.

Flores, who also enjoyed a short spell on loan with Chesterfield at the start of this season, becomes the fourth player to join the Coasters on loan from Wigan this term, joining defenders Luke Burke and Sam Stubbs and young goalkeeper Theo Roberts.

Manager Dave Challinor believes Fylde have a very good player on their hands, telling the club`s official website: “Jordan has great experience for a player of his age having played in League Two last season and at the start of this term. He gives us cover down the left-hand side and adds more quality to what is a very good squad”.
