Clubs 'Confident' Of Beating The Big Chill On Saturday

By Sam Elliott

There are three National League games left standing after a flurry of postponements on Friday.

The icy weather has caused havoc and many of the weekend fixtures have already fallen. You can keep up to date with the latest pitch inspections and call offs on our live blog here.

There’s a handful of matches that have so far not succumbed to the elements, clubs determined to give their games a chance of going ahead.

Aldershot Town play Solihull Moors as they say they are confident it’s game on!

“There is no planned pitch inspection ahead of tomorrow's Vanarama National League game,” they tweeted.

“Frost covers were put on on Wednesday and have remained in place since. With temperatures not expected to drop any further than the previous 24 hours over the next 24 hours, all parties are optimistic that the current condition of the pitch - which is playable - will not deteriorate.”

Two sides down the bottom are due to meet as Boston United play Ebbsfleet United with both clubs desperate for three points.

It’s second bottom vs bottom and with just four wins between them so far this season, it could be a crucial and chilly afternoon.

The covers are on at Yeovil Town and the Glovers are hopeful that their planned meeting with Woking will go ahead as planned.

Mark Cooper has praised counterpart Neal Ardley following his flying start.

Speaking in his pre-match press conference, he said: “He has done well hasn’t he? He’s gone into Woking, he’s changed a little bit about the way that they play, he’s tried some rotations and from what I’ve seen, they’re trying to play a lot more football and they’ve had some good results.

“It’s going to be a tough game, but we’re playing really well at the minute and our last few games we’ve performed really well and we’ve not got the points total that we’ve deserved
