The players and staff from many of our sides have been paying special visits to those who need a smile put on their faces - as well as digging deep to make things better for others.
Chesterfield and their fans have been busy with another toy appeal, raising over £12,000-worth of gifts which will then be distributed to hundreds of families.
Marketing manager Bridget Ball said: “It has been a tremendous effort once again, ensuring that many children receive presents to unwrap on Christmas Day. We could not have done it without all the tremendous support we have received.”
Aldershot Town had the same brilliant idea as they visited two local hospitals on Tuesday to hand over the presents which were donated.
The club’s players headed for Frimley Park Hospital and then the Royal Surrey Hospital with sacks full of gifts for the children and they had plenty to talk about after the club’s FA Cup heroics.
The club said: “Thank you to the hospital staff who helped receive our visit and donations and for all the incredible work they do!
“We would also like to thank the Shots Foundation, with special thanks to Foundation Trustees Kay Khan and Keith Dibble, for helping to organise the Toy Appeal, co-ordinating the visits and wrapping all of the donations.”
Yeovil Town’s players were keen to put some smiles on faces as they headed on mass to Yeovil Hospital’s Children’s Ward to dish out presents, pictured.
Woking always make sure they do their bit at Christmas and hit the children’s wards at St Peters and the Royal Surrey County Hospitals with bag loads of games and gifts.
The Cards have also taken bags of donations to the Woking Foodbank and want fans to drops more products at the ground ahead of Saturday’s match with Maidenhead United.
Dartford’s Richard Chin took time out from the club’s National League South campaign as he and the supporters’ association popped into the Children’s Ward at Darenth Valley Hospital.
Bromley hosted their Annual Bromley Children and Families Forum Santa Dash, where hundreds of presents were donated and will be provided to children in need in their local community.
Generosity is clearly a big thing in the area. On Tuesday Welling United boss Danny Bloor and every one of his played paid a Christmas visit to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Woolwich and the manager said: “It really does make you release that we have to do things like this - it’s such a difficult time of the year for some many.”
Oldham Athletic fans have also been busy and the Trust’s Martin Vose said: “Oldham Athletic are proud to support the Oldham Council Christmas toy appeal, which involved collaborative working to ensure that hundreds of children across the borough have presents to open this year.
"I would also like to highlight the contributions of the Oldham Athletic supporters, who donated in great numbers over the past weeks – together we have made Christmas a little brighter for many children locally.”
