City Snare Lloyd As Ammies Pull Off Transfer Coup

Ambitious Salford City have, in their own words, signalled their intent for next season.

The Ammies have completed a deal to bring Danny Lloyd back to the north west.

The former Stockport County forward signed for Peterborough United last summer but Salford have done enough to convince him to drop back down into the National League.

Lloyd had earned good reviews since signing for the Posh but with Peterborough flush with forwards a deal could be done.

Lloyd tweeted: “Really pleased to be a part of a progressive/ambitious club in @SalfordCityFC the journey starts now, can’t wait to get going.”

New City manager Graham Alexander is building a squad to be reckoned with.

He has already signed Fleetwood Town’s promotion specialist Nathan Pond and Macclesfield Town’s title winning midfielder Danny Whitehead.

Salford were crowned National League North champions last April and don’t appear to want a season to assess their new division.
