Boxing Day’s games saw only Dartford of the five joint leaders win - it’s just a league you can’t call.
Speaking to those in the know, reporters at games as well as club officials we have pieced together a Team of the Day from all of Tuesday’s matches.
Our congratulations go to our super 16, who were all outstanding for their clubs on December 26.
As always, we say bring on the debate - if you aren’t happy your side’s star performer was overlooked, get in touch and tell us why on twitter @TheNationalLge
Goalkeeper: Dan Lincoln (Bognor Regis)
Not many sides keep clean sheets against Havant, joint leaders going into the game. Lincoln was commanding and didn’t look like he would be beaten.
Defender: Eddie Oshodi (Wealdstone)
The right-back knew he would be in for a demanding after at Hampton and it proved to be, but he never missed a tackle and helped claim a valuable point.
Defender: Joe Oastler (Oxford City)
City’s big win at Gloucester enhanced their survival chances. Oastler was the driving force and inspired a crucial victory.
Defender: Sam El-Abd (Bognor Regis)
He may not have wanted the manager’s job in the summer but he’s still very useful indeed in the Rocks backline.
Defender: Ashley Harper (Weston-super-Mare)
What a win it was for Weston and much improved Bath. Harper was outstanding, as were most of the Seagulls players at Twerton Park.
Midfielder: Brendan Kiernan (Hampton)
In the end it wasn’t quite his day. But for good goalkeeping and the woodwork, he could have had a hat-trick against Wealdstone.
Midfielder: Ian Herring (Hungerford)
It was a much-needed win for the Crusaders against Chippenham and the heartbeat was Herring. It was a day for digging in and his carried the spade.
Midfielder: Sergio Torres (Eastbourne Borough)
Returning to Whitehawk with a hero’s welcome, he was professional at a place where he is still loved. The Sports knew they couldn’t slip up.
Midfielder: Jordan Parkes (Hemel Hempstead)
Outstanding for Hemel once again as the Tudors secured a decent draw at St Albans in an exciting Hertfordshire derby.
Striker: Tyler Harvey (Truro City)
Two goals away to Poole Town further enhance his reputation. This was a tricky fixture for the White Tigers but they passed the test.
Striker: Andy Pugh (Dartford)
He’s hitting form at the right time for Tony Burman’s side. A brace in the big derby with Welling United was all our selection panel needed to see.
Substitutes:
Joe Ellul (Braintree Town)
Rob Sinclair (Oxford City)
Ed Palmer (Truro City)
Alfie Pavey (Dartford)
Gethin Hill (Weston)
