Chester’s Match With Kidderminster Has Been Postponed

Chester’s home match with Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday has been postponed, we can confirm tonight.

Water damage after a recent storm means the National League North fixture will not go ahead as planned.

The area has been hit by poor weather and the decision has been made to call the match off.

A new date for the re-arranged fixture has already been agreed.

The two sides will try again next Tuesday, August 21, with an improvement to the weather predicted.

A Chester statement read: “Heavy rain on Sunday evening and throughout the night has caused extensive damage to critical areas of the stadium and its infrastructure.

“Following assessment today and consultation with the National League and Kidderminster Harriers the decision to postpone the match was made to ensure the safety of all those who would be in attendance.

“We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
