Cheek Twists The Dagger As Still's Men Go Top

Michael Cheek bagged a brace in Dagenham and Redbridge's thumping 5-1 win over Bromley, that saw them move top of the Vanarama National League - and he praised his teammates afterwards.

Bromley were unbeaten in second place going into the match but John Still's Daggers also hadn't lost and were deadly in front of goal.

Cheek opened the scoring although Luke Wanadio equalised for the visitors before the Dagenham striker netted his second.

Kevin Lokko headed one in on the stroke of half-time and then Morgan Ferrier and Corey Whitely added the gloss late on.

"We're delighted with the result and performance as a team, and it puts us top," said Cheek.

"It was good to get a brace, especially at home as well, the fans loved it so I'm happy.

"Everyone is a great player here and we're going to create a lot of chances. We've been free-scoring throughout, I think we've scored two plus every game which is a good.

"I picked up a little knock and came off a bit early. I'll put ice on it and see how it is but hopefully we'll get another three points at Maidstone and stay unbeaten."
