Champions Need To Tune Up Says Hawks Boss Bradbury

One thing is for sure, Havant manager Lee Bradbury won’t allow his players to take the foot off the gas next season.

The Hawks beat local Horndean 5-2 on Saturday - but despite the goals flying in the manager wasn’t at all pleased.

The National League newcomers needed three goals in the final ten minutes to secure victory.

Wessex League Horndean earned praise from Bradbury - but his own players certainly didn’t.

The manager told the Portsmouth News that standards must be met.

“We made a number of changes and that did the trick but it was a bit of a reminder to some of our players that it isn't going to be easy,” he said.

“I won’t allow the lads to keep taking liberties – whoever we are playing.

“Horndean looked really fit but number of things out there did not please me.”

Bradbury takes his side to Barrow on the opening day of the National League season.
