Challinor: Fylde's Character Key To 2018 Success

A late 2-1 victory against Guiseley left Dave Challinor delighted with his side as they moved to within three points of the play-offs.

A Danny Rowe free-kick with minutes to go saw the Coasters move closer to the play-off places, writes Tom Feaheny.

"I felt the win showed the character in this group, we had enough chances to win three matches we could have easily got frustrated,

"I asked for a bit of a reaction from the Chester draw and I got it, some of the build up play was very impressive and Rowe's free-kick near the end was a good way to get the three points.

"We've hit the post, had shots blocked they put their bodies on the line at times, it was difficult but I'm delighted with the win.

"We're unbeaten in 2018 and this good run has put us in with a chance of competing for a play-off place, we know there is a lot of work to be done but I'm very pleased with how we have started the new year."
