The 24-year-old forward joined on a free in June, he has since taken part in the full pre-season as he prepares for the big kick-off on August 5th, writes Tom Feaheny.
The former Wolves, Tranmere Rovers and Notts County attacker scored eight times last season for Adam Lockwood's Guiseley and he believes he can score more this campaign.
“I played as a target man and that had an affect for the way I could get goals, now can be more of a change for me in how I play in the attacking role."
He added “My game has changed with the different managers I have worked under. I got some goals at Guiseley and that has given me the confidence to know I am back.”
Cassidy says that manager Craig Harrison, someone he knows well, was a big reason for him joining.
“He is really positive about everything and that helps the players."
With pre-season almost at an end, Cassidy admitted that he already knew quite a bit about his new team mates before a training had taken place as he told the Hartlepool Mail.
“I had played against a lot of the players here and heard a lot from lads who have played with them as well."
