The Cards claimed their second win of the season last night, beating Eastleigh 2-1 in an action-packed match - watch highlights here.
Limbrick saw his managerial debut end in victory at home to Gateshead but then two long trips to Tranmere Rovers and Barrow were fruitless.
The fixture against the latter was a particularly difficult afternoon as Barrow ran out comfortable 3-0 winners.
However, just three days later, Limbrick could be seen fist pumping in delight on the Laithwaite Community Stadium pitch at full-time - celebrating an impressive six points from four tricky fixtures.
"Whatever happened in terms of the result we just wanted to make sure that coming back home we had the maximum effort from the players," he said after ending Eastleigh's three-game unbeaten run.
"We had to battle for long periods of the game and as everyone keeps telling me, you have to battle in this league. It was a big lesson for us against Barrow, where we didn't turn up and perform.
"We dug in at times and got through to half-time with the clean sheet. We saw the game out which was a bit ugly in an action-packed second half. It's really pleasing, and for the players.
Limbrick continued: "Being critical, it's the second time at home we should have got the third goal, which would have seen the game off.
"I think in our first six or seven games, we'd be second favourites in all of them. There was a lot of people saying we would probably get hardly any points from these games. We know we've still got a lot of work to do."
