Cards Aim To Repair Cup Heartache With Trophy Run

That’s according to manager Anthony Limbrick, who wants his side to pick themselves up from not quite being able to finish the job at London Road.

There’s few clubs with Trophy tradition like Woking - three time winners in the 90s, they now want to get their hands on the previous piece of silverware again.

Limbrick will be taking his first steps in the famous old competition when the Cards welcome National League opponents Maidenhead United tomorrow.

He said: “The FA Trophy was always important this season, more so now with us needing a little lift.

“We were obviously gutted to go out up at Peterborough but we know we had a great run. I’m still so proud of the players.

“The Trophy is special to Woking. I work closely with Geoff Chapple and he tells me that quite often!

“I think everyone here would welcome a really good run. To get the club to Wembley would be magnificent.

“We’ve got a very tricky tie that’s for certain but we want to go as far as we possibly can.”

Limbrick says it’s the start of an important festive period for the club with Aldershot Town home and away over Christmas and New Year. They also face Barrow, next Saturday, and a trip to Eastleigh.
