Brackley Town have done themselves no harm in their quest of going up with fifteen points out of the fifteen available, writes Tom Feaheny.
A squad filled with players who know how to go up from this league and a manager who has gained plenty of plaudits was bound to see this side do well, Byrne says continuity has been key so far.
"I think keeping the majority of the squad from the team that did well last season has played a part in the start we've had. I would also say we had a very good pre season working hard and prepping for the season so I think that's helped as well.
He added: "After the break it's always a welcome relief the season starting again and obviously getting off to the start we have has made it a very enjoyable season so far. When there are a lot of changes it might take a while to gel so we've been quite fortunate in that sense. Hopefully it's as enjoyable in nine months time."
Byrne who has played his part in the sides unbeaten run says he just wants to help his team as best he can.
"For me personally it's all about staying up to my work and the standards I've set myself the last few seasons, being consistent and playing as many games as I possibly can this year. If I can add a few more goals then I'll be more then happy."
A good start has led to Brackley being seen as one of the teams that can challenge for promotion and Byrne thinks it is a realistic prospect.
"There is a lot of ambition at Brackley from the board right through the the players, we all want to do as well as we can and finish as high as we can and reaching the play offs in a league as tough as this would be a great achievement, still a long way to go till we think about that though."
