....the ninth signing already of a hectic summer for the man who took the reins on a permanent basis at the end of the 2015/16 Vanarama National League North campaign.
Roma has recruited Welsh defender Ioan Evans, who is currently away in Sweden gaining experience as part of the League Football Education programme.
A former Sheffield United scholar, Evans has represented Wales up to under-19 level and has appeared on Sky Sports whilst representing Wales in the under-16 Victory Shield.
Allowed to leave Sheffield United midway through last season to enable him to further his career, Evans linked up briefly with league rivals Boston United, prior to his stint in Scandinavia.
Having watched him play – and consulting with former Sheffield United assistant-manager Chris Morgan - Roma described Evans as "a tall, strong, aggressive centre-half that has an excellent pedigree, having represented Wales at international level, who will complement the defenders already on board at the club".
The 19-year-old has aspirations to get back into the Football League and will be doing all he can to do that by producing performances that benefit both himself and Gainsborough Trinity.
Evans said: "Gainsborough Trinity Football Club are a team going places. I have a great deal of respect for the manager, Dominic Roma. My old boss speaks highly of him – and he assures me we are going to be playing football the right way.
"I believe playing for Trinity will give me the perfect platform, to play regular football and really showcase my talents. The manager has been busy in the transfer market over the summer and I can’t wait to get in amongst the lads during pre-season and stake a claim for a starting spot come August 6th."
