Burman Says Time Was Right To Hand Over Darts Role

A 1-0 defeat to Braintree Town left Tony Burman considering his own future, he subsequently left the club.

A Billy Crook goal with under 20 minutes to go ensured that the Darts would stay in the Vanarama National League South, writes Tom Feaheny.

Burman who had been with the club for over a decade announced days later he was to leave.

Former players Jamie Coyle and Adam Flanagan have since joined as joint-managers.

“It’s been a strange week and a sad week but it happens and you have to move on. It was going to happen one day and I felt it was the right time to let someone else take the helm," Burman told Kent Online.

“I had been considering things, whether we were going to go up or stay in the same league. I did want to go up.

"It was a challenge for me to make that happen and to also change the way the club was working."
