Burman Plays Down Importance Of Dartford's 'Big Win'

By Sam Elliott

Tony Burman wasn’t in the mood to get carried away despite his side coming out on top in the battle of the National League South joint leaders.

Dartford overcame Havant & Waterlooville 1-0 at Princes Park as they moved two points clear.

It was a tough match which was ultimately won by Tom Murphy‘s goal after just two minutes. Watch Match Highlights Here.

In an interview with Kent Online, the Darts manager says while the win was most welcome it doesn’t give his side the edge.

He expects Havant to remain in the race despite a rare away loss for Lee Bradbury’s team.

Burman said: "It's a big win in respect that they had a game in hand and now they've got to win that game in hand.

"It doesn't mean we've won the league or they've lost it.

"It's another game where we've picked up three points, the bonus for us was a clean sheet."

Burman told the website: "It was a battling performance rather than a footballing one.

"It's nice to go on a run and all of a sudden it's coming together.

"They've got good experienced players with a lot of league games under their belt.”
