But Dartford manager Tony Burman knows they will need to get one over a side who have a great record against them - and that they need to get a monkey off their back.
The Darts play St Albans City on Saturday knowing history isn’t on their side.
“They’ve been a bit of a bogey side for us in recent games,” Burman said in an interview with Kent Online ahead of this weekend’s big game.
“The guys know that and I’m sure they’ll want to get one over St Albans. We know they’re a good side although they lost to Hampton on Tuesday night.
“Hopefully it’ll be a good game but it’s about time we got a result against St Albans and I hope we can do that on Saturday.”
Burman is in no doubt that his club’s position in the table is a true reflection of the season so far.
They showed real grit at Bath City on Tuesday, their ten men coming away with a gutsy 2-1 victory which set up the meeting of the joint leaders this Saturday.
“Under the circumstances, we thoroughly deserve to be where we are,” he told them.
“We’ve scored the most goals and we’re close to having the best defensive record. We’ve done ever so well.
“On Saturday at Chelmsford it didn’t quite work out for us and it’s not going to happen every game but no-one can criticise us for not scoring this year or trying to keep clean sheets.”
