Luke Burbidge has long been a fans' favourite. Nominally a midfielder, he is a great squad player used in defence, midfield and up front at various times. However, he really comes alive with his rampaging forays down either wing and is equally at home making and scoring goals.
Burbidge joined the Dolphins from Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier outfit Hamworthy United at the start of the 2012/13 season, having been a promising junior at AFC Bournemouth.
Apart from a few weeks at neighbours Weymouth, he has remained at Poole, despite being a constant target for other clubs.
This year was no different. He was made a very big offer to follow Marvin Brooks to Salisbury FC but stayed loyal to the Dolphins.
This and the birth of his son earlier this year are signs of his growing maturity, both on and off the field.
