The stand-in Hereford head of football was still delighted to see his side come back from the dead to progress.
The win banks the Bulls a cheque for £9,000 and a tie home tie with Welling United in the next round.
But hard-to-please Davies sets his standards right. He says the National League North club should never have got themselves into that position on the south coast.
He said: “My first emotion really is disappointment.
“You don’t go 3-0 down like that. They have basically had three chances and we have gifted them goals.
“We weren’t narrow and we weren’t disciplined but then it turned around and we got a hold of the game.
“As that third goal went in I think I ruined my shoes and trousers as I was sliding everywhere!”
He told Bulls Radio: “When I came in I told them to play for the badge and play for their families, and they did that.
“I wasn’t the most gifted player, but when I pulled on that shirt I gave it everything. That’s all I have asked of these players since I came in.
“They did that and I’m delighted for them and for the supporters.”
