Building Work Stopped On Ebbsfleet's New Stand

Work on the main stand at Ebbsfleet United’s Stonebridge Road home has been halted, the club confirmed yesterday.

Contractors TSP have gone into liquidation and that has presented a big problem for the Fleet.

Vice chairman Peter Varney took to the club’s matchday programme to inform supporters of the situation as they look for a solution.

Most of the new stand is finished and it was full for the National League South playoff final against Chelmsford City.

But Varney said: “There is much I would like to say but the legal advice I have received is that the club must not make any detailed comment while the liquidation process is on course.

“I just hope it is not too long until the club can take back control of our new stand and engage a contractor to complete the outstanding works.

“Naturally this is going to lead to a delay in the completion of the project.”
