BT Cameras Roll! Yeovil Head To Cumbria For Barrow Battle

Whirlwind? Gruelling? Relentless? There are plenty of words often used to describe the opening month of the Vanarama National League season.

For Ian Evatt just one word will suffice. Inconclusive.

“We’re four games in, it’s not been a great start other than the game on Saturday [against Eastleigh],” the Bluebirds boss said.

“But the way we have played has shown me some positive signs that we will be a force to be reckoned with once we have pieced it all together.

“What I will say is don’t lose faith, don’t give up on us yet,” he added. “There is still so much more to give, we’ll work hard, and we’ll get it right it’s as simple as that.”

Darren Sarll had a job on his hands to pick his side up after relegation from League Two four months ago.

You could have forgiven fans for thinking the worst when they slipped to an opening day defeat at Barnet.

But they’ve turned it around. Seven points from the three games that followed have shown shoots of new life and confidence around Huish Park.

But Sarll thinks this might only be the beginning and is confident his side can still take it up a notch.

“We’ve got to keep playing better than how we’ve been playing,” he told the club’s official video service. “We’ve got to keep improving – we’re nowhere near where I want to be.

“We should probably have another three points on the board, but I haven’t set targets for August, given where we started from in the summer.”

All eyes will be on Holker Street as the BT Sport cameras make haste to Cumbria for the latest helping of live Vanarama National League action this Saturday.

Can we expect a show? Ian Evatt wouldn’t have it any other way.

He said: “Now is the time to stop talking, we need to get results and let our determination and our football do the talking.

“It’s time to stop talking and complaining, it’s time for actions and actions need to speak louder than words on Saturday.”

Music to the ears of Barrow fans – but what kind of challenge will Yeovil bring?

“What we’re showing at the minute is a fantastic level of physical performance,” Sarll said. “We’ve got good character and togetherness and a real fight and determination.

“If that’s as good as we’ll be all year, I’ll take that every day of the week and twice on a Sunday.

“The way I like my teams to play is high energy and high intensity.”

Barrow and Yeovil Town square up from 5.20pm live on BT Sport this Saturday.
