The Magpies reclaimed top spot in the National League North after a 3-2 win over Darlington.
It was the division’s solitary match - and Chorley took full advantage.
But going into the break 1-0 behind, the manager was happy with how they turned things around after half-time.
“We didn’t get to grips with the conditions at half-time,” he told the club’s video service.
“In the second half it was all about composure. We changed our shape and showed we’re good enough.
“We haven’t scored enough goals recently and that was the main subject of my team talk to the players.
“We know we needed to play on the front foot and we did. We knew the goals would come and we managed three. It was a really good second-half performance.”
